VP Industries was established in 1983 by our visionary founder, Late Shri V. Gowrishankar. With a strong desire to generate employment and uplift non-technical individuals by skilling them with passion, he set the foundation for what we are today. Despite being a B.Com graduate, his innate engineering talent led him to design and manufacture machines—including Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)—primarily focused on affordable, high-productivity solutions for the woodworking industry.

After his passing in July 1987, the company expanded its focus to machining services, initially supporting manufacturers of CAN making machines and other industrial equipment. By 1988, we began providing job work services to Larsen & Toubro (L&T), marking the beginning of a long and transformative partnership. Through L&T’s supplier development programs—conducted in collaboration with SJCE_STEP in the early 1990s—we were exposed to ISO systems and best manufacturing practices, which played a pivotal role in shaping our quality-driven approach. Around the same time, we also began servicing Automotive Axles Ltd., further broadening our industry reach.
